‘Bloggers (besides me) who are cool and/or fun to read’

Even I get sick of Lutheran Liar. Sometimes it’s nice — even for me — to read about something besides my own escapades.

Here, in no particular order, are some other blogs you might enjoy when you too need to take a break from Lutheran Liar’s look at life. Or just plain life. Some are written by people I know. And some are pure random serendipitous finds.

Forged in Buffalo. I love this one, written by another person I actually know from the Ad Biz. His blog centers on growing up in Buffalo, NY (‘Forged in Buffalo’. Hah!) He features a cartoon every week by the fabulous Isabella Bannerman. Who has her own Wikipedia entry (!) and is married to the Buffalo Guy. Sweet.

'Hey! Where are the blogs?' ask Mom and Laura

Roy Edroso Breaks It Down. This one is about politics and the news of the day, and is bracing. When you subscribe–you can get some of the issues for free, but trust me, it’s worth every penny to get the beefed-up paid subscription–you get a cool piece in your inbox every day. Read it, and hang on tight.

Also exotic, in a Brit kind of way, is Suzie Speaks, the Adventures of a Thirty-Something Life. Sort of says it all, that. With a British accent, of course. Seriously, she’s got, like, a zillion followers and has won scads of blogging awards. But I like her anyway. Partly because she has a fiance she calls The Bloke.

C’est la Zie. If you’re into math (like me! hah!) you will really dig this blog. Since it’s written by a true Math Genius, the one and only Mr. Z of Stuyvesant High School fame. But wait! His blog isn’t always about math or teaching or Stuff I Don’t Understand at All. His Halloween piece on ‘going’ as Doctor Evil with his son as Scott Evil will send you laughing to infinity and beyond.

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Gypsy Nesters. These two extremely good-looking people ‘went from Empty Nesters to no nest at all’. Now they travel all over the gosh-darned world and write about it. If their posts weren’t so hilarious, it would depress me no end to read them.

Last, and certainly not least, there is a special place in my sharing heart for this special place where bloggers can share, and even non-bloggers can find fun stuff to read. It’s a special social page set up by the Esteemed Esme of cookandenjoyrecipes.wordpress.com. Just click here for the entire entertaining list.

Okay, I’m exhausted. Plus, I have yet to write my weekly post. (I started out writing twice a week, but decided that was once too many. If you are disappointed, read some of mine over again.)
